This trip has been through beautiful countryside, and you are given to wonder if it can get any better.  It does, but then maybe it’s just that it is different, but it all results from millions of years of glacial erosion.

Jasper National Park is a gem, and in this post I’m sharing some amazing landscapes, a few creatures and even a couple of star gazing shots.

A boat ride to the renowned Spirit Island, a sacred Indian place, produced some super views and some great reflective photography.  The island is very small and you cannot step foot on it.  Sadly its beauty of about 30 trees is being destroyed by the pine beetle and the trees are dying.

Some of the pictures show what looks like fall leaves turning.  Sadly not so, these are trees that the beetle is killing.  The only way to control this creature is cold – so they are hoping for a really frigid winter, otherwise the pine trees will all disssappear.
