Custer State Park has to be one of the biggest and greenest lands.  As far as you can see it is green, grasslands or trees, and then the fabulous Needles Highway.  This road stretches around a corner of the park and has some of the most amazing rock formations.  With the backdrop of the Black Hills it makes for mind blowing views.  The weather, ever changing brings the delights of shadow and highlight.

What a great time we had touring this immense land, and viewing the creatures, large and small.

We also took in Mt Rushmore, an impressive memorial to four Presidents past.

The other rock carving is still going on and is likely to for another fifty years, having started in 1947!  That is the effigy of Crazy Horse at the Crazy Horse Indian cultural Center.  This monster carving is a work in progress to keep the American Indian dreams alive.
