For a photographer the re-enactors at the Olustee Battlefield Re-enactment leave nothing out. From early morning when they arise from their military style tents to the end of the battle they are for real – as authentic as they can be to the times, and the way they camp, cook, and move around is a photographer’s bonanza of action, of characters, and times gone by. I hope my collection, albeit large, conveys those attributes, and that maybe one day if you are near one of these reenactments that take place all over the eastern USA you will take yourself back in time, to the days when soldiery was very personal, and you looked your enemy in the eyes before you tried to kill him. There’s some rich history at these, and a history we should never forget.
